Oh yes! Today, I’m drinking Ekitiribita our amazing traditional millet porridge from Western Uganda. It wasn’t exactly Mum’s favorite drink but in her final years, it was among the things she drank the most. She always preferred it warm, comforting and filled with strength.
Taking a sip today brought back a wave of emotions because suddenly it felt like she was right there with me. It’s in these small ordinary moments that grief quietly taps our shoulders and it hits again.
There is a special kind of connection that comes from doing the things our loved ones used to do. It reminds us that they lived, they loved and that they left pieces of themselves behind in the routines, in the tastes and in the little habits we find ourselves continuing without even thinking about it.
And yeah, the memories… those are the precious gifts we get to keep. They help us carry them forward. They help us smile through the ache. They remind us of the joy, the laughter, the strength and even the love in its fullness of who they were.
May we strive to make them proud as we continue on this journey of life by choosing gratitude over sorrow, love over loss,l and hope over despair.
May we also be proud of ourselves because they chose to share their lives with us and in doing so, they made us who we are today.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever close to the heart.
TUHAME ❤️

Oh yeah! Thank you Penny 😊
We thank God for the time she was with us here on earth. We believe she’s in a better place watching over us. May the souls of all our departed dear ones continue to rest in peace. Forever loved, forever missed, forever close to the heart.
We surely thank God. And Amen🙏🥰
